AHMEDABAD: Ahmedabad-based BPO company Azure-Styx Infosoft is fast expanding its wings. After a soon-to-be-announced collaboration with a US-based Rs 1,600-crore firm, the company is now setting up a new center in Hyderabad and is also planning one in Bangalore. The total investment for these expansions will be around Rs 15-25 crore.

“At present the company employs over 800 people and the capacity will soon go up to over 2,000-2,500,” says Dushyant Joshi, head of Azure-Styx Infosoft. The firm is also coming up with a knowledge center in Ahmedabad with a capacity of over 1,500 people. “Increased presence at diverse locations will help us avoid geographical redundancy and also help us serve our clients better,” says Joshi.

Depending on the cost advantage and the talent availability, the firm plans to double intake at both its Hyderabad and Bangalore centers. At present, Azure has taken on lease a new center in Hyderabad for three months with a monthly rental of over $30,000. “Depending on profitability, we will chalk out our expansion plans,” he said.

The company is now increasing its focus on non-voice-based services such as data analysis, research projects, profiling and more.

While the company is already in the process of entering into a joint collaboration with a US-based Rs 1,600-crore financial services firm, it is considering yet another tie-up for its new knowledge management center. The US firm will be making a strategic investment in Azure. The funds are to be mainly utilised for a US buyout. “Both companies are in talks to acquire a mortgage processing firm in US,” sources said.

Azure will also be signing an MoU for the new knowledge management center with the government of Gujarat shortly.
